The ideas can be bad and they could be harmful if actioned but the information itself is not.

Understanding the bad ideas are just as important as the good. We need this to evolve and avoid future mistakes.

A good example is the number of people left bewildered by Trump's win. They quite literally fail to understand why. Their beliefs are that Trump is a dangerous, fascist, nazi etc etc. As such they leave themselves in quite a state.

Not engaging in these conversations is more dangerous.
