The Unexpected Answers That Bond
Why would you ever want to ask this question, I hear you say. Surely it’s obvious why you are friends. You should be able to answer this yourself?
The reason you want to know is to better understand yourself. You’re not asking out of vanity in search of an ego boost. No, you really want to understand what it is about you that makes you “their choice” out of everyone else.
You think you know, but the question will reveal much you don’t expect.
The Answers
Ok I won’t lie. This can be challenging and feel a bit awkward. We all have our biases and asking friends for honest feedback can difficult. Maybe they’re straight with you but you’re not prepared to hear their ‘harsh’ views.
Your defence will impulsively convince you of the flaws in their opinion and why they’re wrong. And maybe the are. But what if they’re right! Am I ready to hear it?!
Worse still your friends praise you! Not only does that give you nothing to work with, how do even know it’s true and accurate? Maybe they’re just protecting your feelings and don’t want to hurt your relationship.
