It's a good start but I wouldn't downplay the importance of those who did regret.

The study also failed to provide further reason for regret.

"Only" 1% may sound insignificant but that's ~900 out of a study of ~90,000.

The study did not link the reasons for regret in those specific 900 to any specific reason. The results of people close to them not being accepting was applied to all groups and not for those 900.

My point is that while this study is a good start, it fails to address the root of regret. 1% being 900 may sound insignificant but in a Country with over 2.6 Million people identifying as transgender that sample is multiplied.

A statistically estimated figure of 26.000 regret is no small figure.
