Made famous by motivational speaker Jim Rohn, there is evidence to indicate he’s right when he said “we are the average of five people”. Referring to the five people you spend most of your time with, Jim points out how their influence impacts and limits your success.
But does this mean you are actually the average of your five friends?
It can be unless you take action to change it and action that will propel you further.
If you ever watched Suits you may remember Harvey telling Mike Ross to ditch his friend Trevor. Trevor being the one who would involve Mike in illegal and troublesome activity. Mike’s life turned around when Trevor was no longer in the picture and he was surrounded by more successful people.
A fictional story yes, but one in relation to reality and makes a valid point.
