If you want to understand the propaganda of a nation, read their newspaper, watch and listen to state broadcasts.

Much of it may well be true but why pay to read what is essentially paid advertising for a narrative.

Of course there are exceptions but each with their own bias slant to a story.

Key to many topical issues are what is not said. That which you have to dig deeper to discover and understand is never in the press. Not at least until everyone else already knows about it.

Take Medium as one example. It's nice to see a range of views from all corners of the globe. Medium and other online platforms provide a range of views and information you will rarely see on state media.
