One is usually to destroy your opponent. The latter being more valuable in discovering knowledge, harness mutual respect and to further your self and advance the conversation.
Arguments and Debate should always be ethical with the view to furthering conversation in the pursuit of finding truth and seeking agreement. When this is your aim, winning will always be the case even when you change your mind. Why? Because you’ve learned from it and will be better placed next time.
