The issue with fact checkers and those who seek to label information as true or false is in their proven dishonesty however. BBC Verify is one such example of a key broadcast channel fallen foul to reporting false facts. Facebook's Zuckerberg is another example where he has apologised for censoring what is now proven as true information.

While it's good to have tools to help, they can never replace the need for an individual to effectively assess the validity of information themselves.
