A great topic to write about and accurate too.

I suppose it really depends on what you compare it with. If it's compared to inflation and real income then you can appreciate the concern.

The price per barrel has also seen an interesting journey price wise from $20 per barrel by April 2020, while WTI (West Texas Intermediate) made history by briefly going negative, reaching -$37.63 per barrel in April, as a result of oversupply and lack of storage.

After this unprecedented dip, prices began to stabilize in the latter part of 2020, averaging around $40 to $50 per barrel by year-end as demand slowly recovered.

And today it's around $71 per barrel.
